Gotukola

Gotukola is a popular leafy vegetable among Sri Lankans.  It is said to improve blood circulation, wound healing, memory, and mental health conditions. Pegged as the `herb of longevity,` Gotu kola is a staple in traditional Chinese, Indonesian, and Ayurvedic medicine. Practitioners claim the medicinal plant has the power to boost brainpower, heal skin issues, and promote liver and kidney health. In Sri Lanka, Gotu kola is widely consumed in urban and rural areas. Gotu kola sambol is a herby coconut salad popular in Sri Lanka. A green salad with chopped Gotu Kola and freshly scraped coconut gives you one of the healthiest salads in Sri Lankan cuisine.
